The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse has placed the spotlight on sexual abuse, whether committed in institutional, familial or community settings. Living Well has developed comprehensive evidence based professional training packages that enhance workers knowledge, skills and confidence. The ultimate aim is to be able respond appropriately to men who have been sexually abused in childhood or sexually assaulted as adults. We are able to provide short 1 hour presentations, 90 minute or 2 hour seminars, half day, full day and 2 day training workshops with supporting material.
We welcome enquiries and the opportunity to engage with professional, organisations, services and communities to work together to reduce the influence of sexual abuse and sexual violence in people’s lives. Please contact us if you are interested in organising training.

Building practitioner confidence and competence in working with men who have been sexually abused in childhood.
Presented by Dr Gary Foster & Kent Smith.
Childhood sexual abuse can have profound and lasting impacts on the lives and relationships of females and males. This workshop is designed to build worker’s confidence and competence, knowledge and skill in working with men who have been sexually abused in childhood (whether assaulted within institutional or community/familial settings).
Dr Gary Foster & Kent Smith will provide participants with practical tools and knowledge to help address this complex issue. To maximise opportunities for interaction and learning the workshop is limited to 26 participants. Copies of presentation material and links to useful resources will be supplied. The presenters are aware of the importance of taking care in discussing sexual violence, and the personal; and professional impact of work in this area. They emphasise choice and safety in creating a respectful learning environment.
