What do I need to request permission for?

You need to obtain permission from Living Well to quote from or reuse materials found in our website or printed material. Examples of material you might want to use include prose selections and images. Examples of reuses include booklets, blog posts, articles, conference or workshop materials, fact sheets, etc. Permission is required even if you do not intend to charge for the use of the material. There is no set number of words or lines that may be used without our written permission. If you are not sure, it is best to request permission anyway. Permission must be requested before you use the material.

If the material produced by Living Well is labeled “reprinted,” “reused with permission,” or “adapted from,” it means that we do not control the rights to the material, and you are advised to contact the cited source directly.

How do I request permission?

How long does it take to process a permission request?

Generally it takes up to two weeks to process a request. If you are facing a deadline, please let us know and we will make every effort to accommodate you.

May I post your material on a website?

Permission to post materials on a website is processed the same way as print permission, and a limited number of such permissions are granted. You must obtain written permission from Living Well before you post the material. Permission is required even if your website can be accessed at no charge. In your request, please include the URL where the material would be posted and information on how the material will be used.
